A medium-sized village garden without views owned by keen gardeners, the visual interest has been focused into the garden with a large Japanese-style pond area and detailed planting.
This area is lit dramatically at night for viewing from the french windows of the living room. Elsewhere there is a spring border, a box sundial and a contemporary 'dry river' grass border overlooked by a simple railway sleeper bench.
North Wales Seaside Border
This colourful border was designed for an awkward roadside position. The client's garden is near the beach, and she wanted to refer to this in the planting.
Seakale and thrift have been mingled with grasses, euphorbia and acanthus and highlighted with poppies. Later in the season the grasses will dominate and their shapes will continue to stand all winter. All the plants have been chosen to thrive in this open, exposed area.
