FdSc Garden Design (Distinction),
RHS Certificate in Horticulture (Commendation).
Qualified professional garden designer.
After 25 years in live television, Cate went on to transform a lifelong passion for gardens and garden design into a new career by training as a garden designer.
In 2006, Cate advised on the BBC television show "Digging Deep", researching and providing practical plant skills and horticultural experience to the production.
In 2007, Cate was Horticultural Researcher for BBC’s Gardener of the Year 2007, shot on location at RHS Wisley gardens.
Cate has also worked as a freelance horticultural researcher for other BBC gardening programmes such as Hampton Court Palace RHS Flower Show, and Tatton Park RHS Flower Show, and as a producer on ITV's Countrywise. Cate is currently concentrating on garden designs, and has been working across the country for private clients.
Inspired designs, founded on an extensive knowledge of plants and practical horticultural skills developed over years of creating gardens make Cate the ideal choice to fill your outdoor space with special plants, or help you to realise a low-maintenance garden to relax in.
"A well designed and thought out garden that exactly fits my needs. Lovely water feature makes an interesting focal point. Excellent planting which takes into account my lack of time and poor knowledge of horticulture. The garden looks fabulous and I am looking forward to seeing it as the plants mature."
Mrs D., North Wales
"Your design was an inspired use of our existing garden and we're amazed how quickly the pond area has matured - it makes it look like it's always been there.... Our landscaper was impressed by your attention to detail and we're grateful for your simple, clear and straightforward tips and advice for looking after our lovely new garden."
